History

Our history began in 1993 with remarkable Kurt Rütten, who had been active in the industry more than 20 years. His thirst for innovation led him to set up his own company, which quickly became a respected brand in pharma engineering business. Countless studies and tests were conducted to develop state-of-art Rütten trademark stirrers and complete systems that would work in most challenging conditions on ground and while in air cargo. Rütten continuous pioneering work forms the foundation of the company we know today.

In 2005 son Michael joined the Rütten firm based in Stäfa (Zurich), which then was already exporting to USA and India. Rütten vessels and stirrers became so popular, that the sales expansion to the rest of the world was very organic. Soon the firm had to look for larger premises and moved to Tagelswangen, which lies close to the Zurich airport.

Michael’s sister Dr vet Maja Rütten is based in the same building in Tagelswangen. She is the founder and owner of PathoVet company, specialised in veterinarian pathology. Maja is the Executive Member of Rütten Engineering’s Management Board. Together with Michael they keep pioneering to find engineering solutions also in veterinarian area.

In 2017 Dr Michael Rütten took over the company. He leads an international team, which now exports to all continents around the world. Thousands of Rütten sterile tanks and stirrers are in operation at leading manufacturers of pharmaceutical products.

In 2019 Rütten Engineering firm approached a new era by refreshing the company’s visual identity. Name Rütten became more dominant as a brand. Despite the facelift, the focus on pharma engineering and innovation remains unchanged.
